There's always something to see, smile, and brake for in the Arts District of Downtown LA. Covert alleys lit by stringed lights, beautifully old warehouses of brick and tall windows, chic shops, and some of the best restaurants in the city. And of course, creativity rampantly enlivening and vandalizing the area abroad.
Last night, the plan was to trek through the Art Walk after dinner, but on this night, the mere sight of the throngs of people tired us, and we drove further into the Arts District and walked through the quiet and empty streets. We passed by small spaces bright and bustling with intimate gatherings, we crossed the Fourth Street Bridge twice, watching from overhead the last incoming trains, and we let the cool air alone with silence.
